GR Truss

GR Truss has supplied engineered trusses for thousands of Northern Ontario homes since 2011, but had no website at all. I built their first: one clear page that says who they are, what they make, and how to reach them.

At a glance

The problem

No website at all. Anyone looking GR Truss up found nothing to confirm who they were, what they make, or how to reach them.

What I built

grtruss.com, their first website: one clear page with their trusses, their services, the region they deliver to, and their contact details.

What they can do now

A buyer who looks them up finds an established manufacturer, sees whether they deliver to their area, and has a number to call. GR Truss can change text and photos without touching code.

Evidence

Live at grtruss.com, on their own domain.

The challenge

GR Truss supplies building supply retailers and contractors across Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay and Muskoka, and none of that existed online. Someone looking them up found nothing to confirm who they were, what they made, or how to get in touch. For a business that runs on reputation and repeat orders, that's a gap. They needed a credible first presence, quickly, without a system someone would have to keep patching.

A real client build: GR Truss's first website, designed and built by me, on their own domain.

What I built

  • grtruss.com — their first website, on their own domain
  • One scrolling page: who they are, what they make, photos, and how to reach them
  • A photo gallery of their trusses, trucks and the homes they go into
  • Services set out plainly: truss design, manufacturing, delivery and technical support
  • Phone, email and address for the yard on the page
  • Content kept in simple data files, editable in CloudCannon without touching code
  • A site that rebuilds itself automatically whenever the content changes

Highlights

What makes it work

Credible in One Glance

Full-width photography of their trusses and one line — Northern Ontario's premier truss manufacturer, providing trusses for thousands of homes since 2011 — so anyone who looks them up knows straight away they've found an established business.

The Product Is the Proof

A manufacturer's best argument is what comes out of the yard. The gallery shows the trusses themselves, the trucks that deliver them, and the homes they end up in.

Nothing to Babysit

It's a static site: no database and no plugins to keep updated. Text and photos live in plain data files with a visual editor on top, so a change doesn't need a developer.

Behind the scenes

How I approached it

  1. Start by Being Findable

With no online presence at all, the first job wasn't clever features. It was a credible page on their own domain that answers who, what and where — the things a buyer checks before they pick up the phone.

  2. One Page, Not a Maze

Retailers and contractors want to know what GR Truss makes, where they deliver, and how to reach them. A single scrolling page puts all three in front of them without any clicking around.

  3. Name the Region

The service area — Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay and Muskoka — is spelled out, because that's how a buyer decides whether a supplier is worth a call.
