Bunker41 is my independent design and development studio in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I started it in 2026, bringing 20 years of experience writing software.

I work with business owners who know something could be better: a website that no longer reflects their work, an online store that makes ordering difficult, or a daily process held together by spreadsheets. You bring the knowledge of your business. I help turn it into something useful.

Why Bunker41?

Bunker41 is named for my home, number 41, and the room where the work started. “Going down to the bunker” was what I called it long before it became a business.

It is still a hands-on studio. I design, write code, test, and explain the decisions along the way. When you have a question about the work, you can ask the person doing it.

• Website design — a new site or redesign that presents your business clearly and helps people take the next step. Good design and useful content matter, even when the site itself is straightforward.
• Online stores — Shopify stores that make products easier to find and buy, with shipping and ordering features suited to your business.
• Custom apps — web and mobile software that supports the way your team works, from stocktaking to connecting information across tools.

The technology follows the job. I work with Hugo, Shopify, Ruby on Rails, and native mobile tools, and explain the choices in terms of what they mean for you.

What Working Together Looks Like

We start with a free conversation. You do not need a technical specification; an explanation of what you want to improve is enough.

Before a build begins, you receive a written scope, price, and schedule. For custom apps, a separate paid discovery phase produces the plan and build quote. During the work, you get progress updates and opportunities to review the design and a working preview.

At handover, you receive the custom code, documentation, and training relevant to your project. Your domain and service accounts are in your name. Third-party software keeps its own licence terms, and I explain the ongoing costs and dependencies.

Most projects include 30 days of post-launch support; custom application builds include 60 days. Ongoing care is available if you want help with updates and improvements.

ANP Office Furniture is a client store with parcel and freight pricing at checkout, GR Truss, a truss manufacturer here in the Sault, got its first website from me, and I updated the design of the Musical Comedy Guild’s site, fixed its SEO, and now maintain and support it. Magpie Inventory and Spec Social are products I built independently. My personal website shows another side of the design work, and Drift is an app still in development.
