How much will my project cost?

That depends on what you need, the content involved, and any systems the project needs to connect to. Websites start at $5,000 and Shopify stores at $8,000, plus applicable taxes. Start with a free conversation or send me a few details. For a website or store, once I have what I need, I’ll send a written scope, timeline and fixed price, including any ongoing costs, before work begins. Custom apps start with paid planning ($4,200, credited if you go ahead), which ends in a fixed build quote. If you have a budget in mind, share it; if not, I can help you work out what is realistic.

I am not sure what I need. Can we start there?

Yes. Tell me about your business, what is getting in the way, and what you would like to improve. The first 30-minute call is free. You do not need to choose a platform or write a technical brief beforehand.

How long does a project take?

A website typically takes 3–4 weeks, or 5–7 weeks when there is substantial content to organise or migrate. Store and app timelines depend on the scope. Your schedule will account for content, feedback, and any third-party access the work needs, so delays on either side move the launch date. App store review can add time outside the build schedule. That’s the time to launch: how quickly new enquiries or sales follow depends on your market and how customers find you.

Can we update the website ourselves?

Yes. Website projects include an editing system for the content you need to manage, plus training and handover notes. We agree on what your team needs to update during planning. Changes to the design or functionality may still need development work.

Will we own the finished work?

You receive the custom code and content created for your project, and your domain, hosting, and store accounts are set up in your name or transferred at handover. Third-party platforms, themes, and software keep their own licences and subscription terms. I document those dependencies so you know what you can take with you.

What happens after launch?

Most projects include 30 days of post-launch support; custom application builds include 60 days. After that, you can manage the project yourself or arrange ongoing help. Care plans and retainers are available for updates, monitoring, and further improvements.

Can you help with a website that just needs a better design?

Yes. You do not need a complicated project to work with me. Clear content, thoughtful design, and an easy way to get in touch are worthwhile goals. I’ll suggest a scope that fits your needs, with the price agreed before work begins.

Can you improve what we already have?

Often, yes. I can help with a website redesign, an existing Shopify store, or an application that needs more work. I will review what is there before recommending changes. If a technical review needs to be a paid piece of work, we agree on that first.

What is the difference between the free call and paid discovery?

The free call is a conversation to understand your needs and see whether we are a good fit. Custom app discovery is a separate paid engagement: a detailed plan, technical specification, and fixed-price build quote. You keep those documents, and the discovery fee is credited against the build if you proceed with Bunker41.

Do we need to provide all the content?

I will need your knowledge of the business, along with any photos, branding, and existing content you want to use. I can help organise the pages and identify what is missing. Copywriting help and stock photography sourcing can be included in the agreed scope.

What costs should we expect after launch?

Hosting, domains, platform subscriptions, and any paid services depend on the project. The proposal sets out what the build includes and which ongoing costs you will be responsible for. Optional care plans are scoped and quoted for the support your site or app needs.

Can an app connect to our existing tools?

Often. Booking, stock, shipping, and accounting systems may offer ways to share information. I check what your tools support before promising an integration, then explain the options and any limitations. Web, iPhone, and Android apps are all possible; the right combination depends on who will use them.

Do we need to be nearby?

No. I am based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and work with businesses across Canada through calls, email, and screen sharing. You work directly with me throughout the project.
