The Challenge

Luxury hospitality lives on perception. Guests deciding between a $400/night lodge and a competitor aren't comparing square footage — they're comparing feelings. Most resort websites fall into two traps: either a generic booking engine with no soul, or a beautiful magazine layout with no clear path to revenue. Whitepoint needed a site that does both — immerses visitors in the experience of being there while making it effortless to book, explore packages, and plan a stay. Every scroll should feel like arriving at the lodge for the first time.

Full-bleed imagery, parallax scrolling, and editorial layouts that make the website feel like a luxury travel magazine. Every section is designed to evoke the sensory experience — the sound of waves, the warmth of a fireplace, the stillness of a forest trail.

Frictionless Booking

Integrated booking engine with real-time availability, seasonal pricing, and package add-ons. Guests can book a room, add spa treatments, and reserve a dinner table in a single flow — no redirects, no third-party portals breaking the experience.

Seasonal Content Engine

The site transforms with the seasons. Winter showcases snowshoeing and aurora viewing, summer highlights kayaking and lakeside dining. Seasonal packages, hero imagery, and featured experiences rotate automatically through CMS scheduling.

Concierge Experience

A digital concierge section lets guests explore activities, request services, and plan their stay before they arrive. Pre-arrival questionnaires, dietary preference collection, and celebration planning tools turn a booking into a relationship.

How We Built It

Luxury Positioning

Studied the visual language of properties like Fogo Island Inn and Scandinave Spa. Applied restraint — generous whitespace, a muted palette, and typography that whispers rather than shouts. The design earns the price tag before the guest reads a single word.

Conversion Architecture

Mapped the guest journey from dreaming to booking. Every section has a purpose in the funnel — hero creates desire, accommodations build consideration, testimonials remove doubt, and the booking CTA is never more than one scroll away.

Performance at Scale

Static site generation with Hugo means instant page loads even with rich media. Adaptive image serving, lazy loading, and edge caching through Netlify deliver sub-2-second load times — critical when competing against resorts with bloated WordPress installations.

Local SEO & Discovery

Schema markup for LodgingBusiness, structured data for room types and pricing, and content strategy targeting 'luxury resort Lake Superior,' 'spa retreat Northern Ontario,' and seasonal activity queries. Built to own the organic search results for premium stays in the region.
