The Challenge

Restaurants live and die by first impressions. Most restaurant websites are either over-designed Flash-era relics or generic Squarespace templates with stock food photos. The goal was to create something that captures the feel of the space — dark, warm, intentional — and gets people to book a table within 30 seconds of landing.

Our Story
Built Around
the Oven.

Stone & Grain started with a simple idea: build the kind of restaurant we'd want to eat at every week. Wood-fired, handmade, unpretentious.

We source from Northern Ontario farms when the seasons allow, make our pasta fresh every morning, and fire our oven with local hardwood. No shortcuts, no frozen anything.

Wood-Fired Since Day One

Our custom stone oven reaches 900°F. Every pizza cooks in under 90 seconds.

Locally Sourced

Partnering with Algoma farms for seasonal produce, meats, and dairy.

Restaurants don't need 15 pages. One page with clear sections — hero, menu, about, events, reserve — keeps the experience focused and the bounce rate low.

Built static with Hugo. No database, no server-side rendering. The site loads instantly — critical for mobile users searching 'restaurants near me' on a Friday night.

Local Discovery

Schema markup for Restaurant type, menu structured data, and Google Business optimization to own the local search results.
